The Popda Society itself ran the PAC for the local community for the first 5 years and employed at its peak 9 members of staff. Due to the recession and lack of funding the only available financial resource to continue the community centre was to use lottery funds
A unanimous decision was taken by the whole Membership not to pursue this income stream
A new partnership was structured with Walsall Council and Sure Start which resulted in the PAC being leased on a full repairing basis
Sure Start ran an early years facility from the PAC for 10 years. The grant was then awarded to another social enterprise - CGL who continued to provide children's services for a further 3 years
It 2021 it was used as a Covid vaccination centre for a short time and currently as a nursery to continue to provide early years facilities to the local community
The Popda Society has also supported many other community projects which includes refurbishing a property from the Anjuman to run a disability support service, homelessness support, refuge support for new arrivals
